SpaceInvader Recognised at the BCO National Awards 2025
The British Council for Offices (BCO) National Awards Dinner 2025 brought together the UK’s workplace design community in London this week to celebrate projects shaping the future of how we work, collaborate and connect.
Two projects featuring SpaceInvader’s interior design approach were among those recognised at the national level, Eden at New Bailey in Salford and Oldham Spindles in Oldham, each reflecting how design collaboration can deliver meaningful environmental, social and economic outcomes.
Eden New Bailey, Salford
Eden New Bailey, Salford: National & Regional Winner – ESG Award
Delivered by ECF, the partnership between Muse, Legal & General and Homes England and designed in collaboration with Make Architects, Eden was awarded the BCO’s National and Regional ESG Award for setting a new standard in responsible commercial workplace design.
Behind its 3,300m² living wall, the largest in Europe, Eden’s interior environment continues the same principles that define its architecture: sustainability, wellbeing and connection.
SpaceInvader’s interiors extend these values inside the building through natural materials, low-carbon finishes and adaptable spaces that promote collaboration and comfort.
As the UK’s first 5.5-star NABERS UK Design Reviewed project, achieving both BREEAM Outstanding and EPC A ratings, Eden demonstrates how architecture, engineering and interior design can combine to deliver measurable environmental performance and a positive user experience.

Oldham Spindles, Greater Manchester
Oldham Spindles, Oldham: National Commendation & Regional Winner – Innovation Award
Oldham Spindles also received national recognition, with a commendation and regional award for innovation. Working with AEW Architects and Oldham Council, SpaceInvader delivered the interior design for Phase 2 of this transformational project, which reimagines a 1990s shopping centre as a multi-functional civic workplace and community hub.
The scheme consolidates council offices, public services and shared workspaces into one flexible environment, helping to revitalise Oldham’s town centre while setting a precedent for design-led regeneration. Through creative reuse and collaboration, Oldham Spindles demonstrates how interior design can unlock new life and purpose within existing assets, supporting both sustainability and community value.

The recognition of both projects reflects a wider shift in workplace design, from focusing purely on efficiency to creating spaces that deliver lasting environmental and social impact.
Whether redefining sustainability in new developments or giving existing buildings new purpose, Eden and Oldham Spindles highlight the role of interior design in shaping places that perform for people, place and planet.
SpaceInvader is proud to have collaborated with such talented project teams and to see their collective achievements celebrated at this year’s BCO Awards.
