SpaceInvader joins appointed team for £13.2m Samlesbury Innovation Hub
Samlesbury Enterprise Zone, Lancashire
SpaceInvader has been appointed as part of the professional design team for Lancashire County Council’s £13.2m Samlesbury Innovation Hub at the Samlesbury Enterprise Zone, supporting a major investment in the region’s future economy.
Planned as up to 30,000 sq ft of flexible workspace, collaboration and event space, the Hub is being developed to support businesses working across advanced engineering, manufacturing, science, technology and cyber. It’s a project rooted in Lancashire’s strengths and ambitions, designed to help attract investment, support high-growth businesses and create high-quality jobs for local communities.
For SpaceInvader, this is the kind of civic project is about creating an environment that enables innovation, making space for new partnerships, knowledge-sharing and the practical realities of growing businesses. We’ll be contributing our interior design expertise as the scheme moves into detailed design, focusing on how the building feels and functions for the people who will use it, from early-stage teams to established organisations looking for space to evolve.
The project forms part of the Lancashire Growth Plan and is moving forward through design, planning and operator procurement during 2026, with construction to follow once these stages are complete. The appointed consultant team includes AEW Architects, MAKE (NW), Stantec, WFST Ltd, CW Studio Ltd and Anderton Gables alongside Lancashire County Council.
We look forward to sharing further updates as the scheme develops. To explore more of our civic and community work, visit our project page and see how we help shape welcoming, high-performing public destinations that support growth, opportunity and long-term value.
