SpaceInvader scoops regional BCO Innovation Award with Hilson Moran

Our work to create the UK’s third WELL-certified office with Hilson Moran has won the Regional Innovation Award at the British Council for Offices (BCO) awards.

The SpaceInvader team provided interior design services for Hilson Moran’s headquarters at NEO on Charlotte Street, Manchester that was centred around employee well being and created with the WELL Standard in mind.

The judges were impressed with the approach to sustainability, incorporating measures such as the use of green moss walls in the office’s collaboration area to create a stimulating working environment, and selecting plants known to help remove toxic pollutants from the air.

Gavin King, Director at SpaceInvader, said: “We’re thrilled to have been recognised by the BCO for our work at NEO. Achieving WELL Certification is no mean feat and requires meticulous planning to ensure wellbeing is at the heart of every stage of the design, planning and implementation.

“This scheme embodies our ethos of designing for the whole person as a human being, not just a worker, and this accolade is proof that well-thought out design truly benefits everyone”

This marks the first year that the awards have been presented on a regional level, recognising the exceptional innovative concepts developed in offices across the UK. The BCO awards define excellence in office space, recognising top quality design and functionality and providing a benchmark for excellence in workplaces.
