We have been appointed by Mosley Street Ventures Ltd to create a unique reception space at Two St. Peter’s Square, Manchester.
The £40m office building, which is currently under construction and due for completion in early 2017, is an integral part of the wider redevelopment plans for St Peter’s Square, and will bring over 160,000 sq ft of Grade A office accommodation to the market as well as 5,000 sq ft of retail space. Designed by architects Simpson Haugh and project managed by Swithenbank Property Consultants, it has already been confirmed that EY will move into the eighth, ninth and tenth floors.
Spread across 4,000 sq ft, the ground floor reception area has been designed to provide a 5-star executive lounge environment for both occupiers and visitors to enjoy. A space for informal meetings, quiet individual working, collaboration, social gatherings and chance encounters. Designed to reflect the building’s professional, refined and elegant surroundings, the scheme uses a neutral colour palette lifted by bespoke Credenza’s with brass accents and a feature wall inspired by the external architectural freeze on the southern façade.
John Williams said: “Having previously worked on the interior aspects of Manchester Central Library during its £48m refurbishment, we are extremely excited to be working on another landmark building within St Peter’s Square. The redevelopment of the area has already made an immeasurable difference to the city centre and the completion of Two St Peter’s Square will only add to this.
“Occupiers are switching on to the benefits of good design, not only in their immediate office space, but also in the entrance and communal areas within their building. They understand that visitors start to form perceptions of their company as they arrive at a business address, long before they set foot in a particular office suite. As a result we are seeing higher expectations for these environments and developers of city centre offices are increasingly looking to interior designers to make more of their property’s entrance by providing stylish, flexible spaces that tenants can make use of rather than simply walk through to the lift.“
