SpaceInvader Day 2019: A celebration of 10 years

On Friday 5th April, 60 Spaceys 'invaded' Green Sand Foundry, Leeds (you see what we did there?) for our SpaceInvader Day 2019 colleague event.

It was the first time since becoming one team last year, that every colleague from our studios in Manchester, Sale, Leeds and Nottingham were together in one place. The day was a massive success, filled with lively discussion, presentations and celebration.

The day kicked off with John Williams, Managing Director of SpaceInvader, who talked about the fantastic journey of SpaceInvader has been on from 2009 to 2019.

Colleagues then broke out into groups to discuss some big topics and make recommendations on how we could improve on the design service we offer to our clients in the future.

One of SpaceInvader's key clients, Ian Hughes from Zenith, joined the group to share his thoughts and appreciation for the work SpaceInvader has done on their office at Kirkstall Forge. Ian talked about how important the company's office space has been for colleague engagement and productivity and shared insights into some of the improvements they've seen as a result of SpaceInvader's work.

The group then heard from a panel of senior colleagues, including Gavin King, Sarah Dodsworth, Paul Edgar, Nathan Lindley and Catherine Marson.

The day finished off with some live polling to get the team's input into important decisions for the future.

John Williams, Managing Director of SpaceInvader commented:

“A huge thank you to all our spaceys who attended the day to celebrate what has been an incredible journey for SpaceInvader and we’re very excited to see what the next 10 years has in store.”
